Summary
The Planning and Compliance Director shall provide comprehensive business planning support to analyze feasibility and desirability of potential strategic and operational initiatives. This position will also manage and oversee the hospital's compliance activities, including developing and updating the Compliance Policy, the Compliance Work Plan, and ensuring the Hospital's compliance with CMS rules and regulations. This position is full time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours, exempt status. This is a fully onsite position located in Ida Grove, IA.

Compliance:
Manages and oversees organization wide compliance activities, including developing and updating the Compliance Program, policies, and work plan to ensure compliance with CMS rules and regulations.
Leads organization wide compliance risk assessments and develops mitigation strategies
Prepare and present periodic reports to the Board of Directors
Periodically determines areas of risk for which compliance activities should be undertaken.
Coordinate with government agency and/or legal representatives during any inquiry, investigation or lawsuit
Receives, analyzes, and maintains records of visitor incident reports, grievances, and complaints; investigates problem areas and follows up on corrective actions as needed
Oversees policy management system, Business Associate Agreements and contract management
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. Masters of Business Administration or Masters in Healthcare Administration preferred.
Experience:
Experience: One year of experience preferred.
Job knowledge:
Job Knowledge: Good decision-making skills. Computer experience is essential, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Knowledge of hospital and organizational-wide Compliance policies and procedures. Ability to analyze and understand rules and regulations as they apply to Hospital operations. Good oral and written abilities. Must be able to: speak before committees and other groups, to write formal reports, letters, policies and educational materials. Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel both inside and outside the organization, conduct investigations, interviews, and possibly participate in negotiations and /or settlements with legal counsel, government representatives, customers, and/or employees. Must be a strong leader and patient advocate.
